Passage of UN arms trade treaty is product of strong U.S. leadership, says Better World Campaign
Strong, U.S.-led action in the United Nations General Assembly to pass the first arms trade treaty represents a historic step by the Obama administration, the Better World Campaign said Tuesday. The treaty, which will be open for signature beginning in June, calls upon UN member states to develop and implement the kinds of systems that the U.S. already has in place to reduce the risk that international arms transfers will be used to carry out the world's worst crimes, including terrorism, genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. Hallan en jardín de infantes cohete disparado durante visita de Obama

Dos semanas después de la visita del presidente de Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, fue encontrado un cohete que penetró el techo de un jardín de infantes e inmediatamente explotó parcialmente, señala un reporte del periódico Yediot Aharonot.

El proyectil fue encontrado recién ahora porque la escuela estaba vacía a raíz del receso de Pesaj (la pascua judía).

El cohete, disparado por los terroristas palestinos que controlan la Franja de Gaza, podría haber tenido un efecto devastador y haber cambiado trágicamente el estatus quo en el sur del país.

El proyectil de tipo Qassam atravesó el techo de la escuela Margalit de Sderot, que generalmente alberga a los niños de tres años de edad, y explotó en forma parcial.

Se estima que fue disparado el 21 de marzo –

poco antes de que Obama pronunciara su famoso discurso en el Centro de Convenciones (Binianei Haumá) de Jerusalén – junto con otros cuatro cohetes, dos de los cuales cayeron en Sderot (uno de ellos en el patio de una casa provocando daños materiales leves y el otro en un descampado)

Los infantes tenían programado regresar a la escuela el miércoles – después de las vacaciones de Pesaj- cuando el personal encontró el agujero en el techo, provocado por el cohete, y avisó a las fuerzas de seguridad.

Aquel día, el Ejército de Defensa de Israel (Tzáhal) había identificado el disparo de cinco cohetes desde Gaza; sin embargo, solamente tres cayeron en el territorio israelí.

Los proyectiles fueron lanzados, según el ejercito israelí, desde Beit Hanún, en el norte de la Franja de Gaza.

Caso La Parada: juez falló a favor de comerciantes para que vuelvan a sus puestos

El juez Malzon Urbina ordenó el retiro inmediato de los policías y bloques de cemento de las inmediaciones del mercado mayorista.

El juez Malzon Urbina, del 56 Juzgado Penal de Lima, emitió una resolución a favor de los comerciantes de La Parada. Ordenó el retiro de los policías que custodian las inmediaciones del mercado mayorista, así como de los bloques de cemento.

En su resolución, el juez concluye que no es legal que la alcaldesa de Lima, Susana Villarán, cambie el uso del terreno del establecimiento dejando de ser un mercado para convertirse en parque.

En otra parte del documento, el magistrado señala que la burgomaestre “habría incurrido en el delito de falsedad genérica y falsificación de documentos múltiples”.

Otra de las conclusiones de Urbina es que la Municipalidad de Lima violentó el principio de igualdad ante la ley, “discriminando a los comerciantes de La Parada”.

Un aspecto que resalta en la resolución es que el juez considera que el ministro del Interior tiene “responsabilidad penal” en el “trato discriminatorio” a los comerciantes evidenciados en el traslado de La Parada al nuevo mercado de Santa Anita. Además, se señala que el titular del Interior no analizó las consecuencias y expuso a los policías de la operación a los actos delincuenciales suscitados en octubre pasado.

HÁBEAS CORPUS FUNDADO
El fallo declara fundada la demanda de hábeas corpus interpuesta doña Ida Obdulia Ávila Sedano contra la alcaldesa Villarán y contra el ministro Wilfredo Pedraza. Esto “por vulneración al principio y al derecho de la libertad individual, medida y vigilancia arbitraria y afectación del derecho a la igualdad ante la ley por trato indiscriminatorio”.

“Dispongo la inmediata dación de cuenta a la Comisión Permanente del Congreso los indicios razonables de la comisión de ilícitos penales por parte del señor ministro Jerónimo Wilfredo Pedraza Sierra”, señala la resolución. También habla de “responsabilidades penales que pudieran recaer sobre la alcaldesa Susana Villarán del a Puente y a los funcionarios públicos que resulten responsables”.

Otra disposición contempla remitir copias certificadas al Ministerio Público por el presunto delito contra la Fe Pública con perjuicio de terceros por parte del teniente alcalde de Lima, Eduardo Zegarra, por haber supuestamente alterado la verdad respecto al contrato de donación del terreno.
