OPCW's efforts recognized with Nobel Peace Prize
The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, a United Nations-backed group, was given the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize today. "We were aware that our work silently but surely was contributing to peace in the world," says Ahmet Uzumcu, OPCW's chief. Thorbjoern Jagland, who leads the peace prize committee, says: "We now have the opportunity to get rid of an entire category of weapons of mass destruction. ...
