PERU: STRENGTHENING AND INVESTING IN WATER MANAGEMENT
For the eighth consecutive year, Americas Society and Council of the Americas along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru will organize a conference in Lima, this time analyzing the challenges and outlook of water management in Peru and how this will affect economic growth, social inclusion, responsible investment, and competitiveness.
Lima is the second most populated desert city in the world after Cairo. While Peru accounts for about 4 percent of the world's annual renewable water resources, the coastal area of Peru—which accounts for most of the country's economic activity and two-thirds of its population—receives less than 2 percent of the national freshwater resources which is mostly available east of the Andes. Water management affects the operation of cities, mining, manufacturing, agriculture, and public health. The public sector, in cooperation with international and Peruvian companies, must continue to develop innovative strategies and technologies to address this pressing issue.
With an eye on international success stories such as Australia, Canada, Israel, and Singapore, this conference will address Peru's developments in water management, and the challenges that lie ahead in creating innovative, effective, and inclusive programs and policies that will enhance the country's growth. Please join us for a discussion with a distinguished group of internationally recognized business leaders, government officials, economists, and experts in water management.

  1. Everybody knows about the corruption and laundry money from Alejandro Toledo and Eliane Karp in Perú. IRS should be investigating these couple and Joseph Maimann.
