Security Council unanimously passes Syrian aid resolution
The United Nations Security Council on Saturday approved, 15-0, a resolution demanding that the Syrian government and opposition allow access for humanitarian aid deliveries to civilians. The binding resolution also insists that cross-border access be allowed for aid shipments and that sieges end. No sanctions were included in the resolution, which promised "further steps" if necessary.
