Atrocities against Syrian children must end, UN envoy says United Nations Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict Leila Zerrougui urged Syrian government officials and rebel leaders to cease atrocities against children or risk being prosecuted as war criminals. "One day, Syria will come to peace, and those committing the atrocities will have to face, I hope, justice," says Zerrougui, who recently visited Syria.The Kansas City Star (Mo.)/The Associated Press (7/22)
