Trenton, NJ – Governor Chris Christie released the following statement on the swearing in of Martin Perez, the first Hispanic to join the Rutgers University Board of Governors:
"I want to welcome Martin Perez to the Rutgers University Board of Governors. For more than two years, Senate President Sweeney, Senator Bob Smith and their fellow Senate Democrats have blocked him and deprived the Board of Hispanic representation. Their last-minute obstructionism has failed, and the University now has the diversity and voice of the community it needs and deserves."

Trenton, NJ - El gobernador Chris Christie hizo la siguiente declaración en ocasión de la juramentación de Martín Pérez, el primer Hispano en integrar la Junta de Gobernadores de la Universidad de Rutgers:
"Quiero dar la bienvenida a Martin Pérez a la Junta de Gobernadores de la Universidad Rutgers. Por más de dos años, el presidente del Senado Sweeney, el Senador Bob Smith y sus compañeros demócratas del Senado, se han dedicado a bloquear y privar para que esta Junta pueda tener representación Hispana. Fracasó el obstruccionismo de último momento y la Universidad cuenta ahora con la diversidad y la voz que necesita y merece tener la comunidad".
