UNITY PRAYER FOR THE DREAM ACT
AMERICAN IMMIGRANT YOUTH AND COMMUNITY LEDERS GATHER TO PRAY FOR THE DREAM ACT AND URGE SENATOR BENNET TO KEEP HIS PROMISE TO VOTE YES ON THE DREAM ACT AS A STAND ALONE BILL

Salt Lake City, UT - American immigrant youth, supporters and community members will gather at Temple Square (Main Street and South Temple) and pray for the passage of the DREAM Act. Participants will also be praying for Senator Bennett's support and YES vote on the DREAM Act next week as it comes to a Senate vote.

Two weeks ago on November 17, Senate Majority Leader Reid announced that the Senate would proceed with votes on the lame-duck session on the DREAM Act. The DREAM Act is a bipartisan legislation that was first introduced in 2001 and would create a path to legalization and citizenship for American immigrant youth who serve the country through education or the armed forces for a minimum of two years.

Organized by the Salt Lake DREAM Team (SLDT), on November 28, 2010 American immigrant youth and their supporters will gather on Temple Square (Main Street and South Temple) by the Christmas Tree from 4:30PM - 5:30PM and will join in prayer so that Senator Bennett and U.S. lawmakers uphold their moral obligations to treat our sisters and brothers with dignity and respect by supporting and voting YES on the DREAM Act next week. Participants are encouraged to bring their holy books: Book of Mormon, Bible, Koran, among others.
