| Today marks the International Criminal Court's 10th birthday. Since 2002, 121 nations have joined together to create the only permanent international court capable of trying individuals accused of genocide war crimes and crimes against humanity where there is no other recourse for justice. For the first time in the history of humanity, the international community is able to hold tyrants and human rights abusers accountable, while providing a fair system of justice, even for the most heinous crimes. Between the Rome Statute's 10th Anniversary on July 1 and July 17, which celebrates International Justice Day, we are holding a series of events celebrating the ICC.
