United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged world governments and leaders to move decisively on limiting global temperature increases. "We have to ask the leaders to commit to bold ambitious targets and we will ask them to accelerate their actions on the ground," Ban said Sunday at a climate meeting held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. WHO warns of danger from polio outbreaks
Polio's resurgence through outbreaks in the Middle East, Asia and Africa is triggering a global health emergency, said a committee of the World Health Organization. "If unchecked, this situation could result in failure to eradicate globally one of the world's most serious vaccine preventable diseases," the WHO committee said.
