[RED DEMOCRATICA] Coments :NJ.: Thank You for Taking Action

 

Apreciadas compatriotas y amigas hispanas en general:
Las saludo respetuosamente y asimismo las invito a que se adhieran a esta peticion y contacten a sus senadores para pedir igualdad de derechos para todas Ustedes a traves del proyecto denominado: Paycheck Fairness Act.
Nuestras mujeres estan sufriendo un pago menor de haberes y eso considero que no debe ser. Conozco a muchas mujeres con muchisimo mas talento y sacrificio que cualquier de nosotros y merecen lgualdad en los pagos y en el trato en el ambito laboral.
Les ruego a mis compatriotas y amigos hispanos a que no se sientan excluidos de esta solicitud. Pero considero que, seria muy provechoso para nuestras liderezas que se comprometan con esta lucha y se suscriban a National Women's Law Center.
Gracias por adherirse a esta lucha.

Dear David,

Thank you for taking action by telling your Senators to quickly pass the Paycheck Fairness Act.

It's been one year since the signing of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Today, women still earn, on average, only 77 cents for every dollar earned by men. We are fighting for the passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act, the essential companion legislation to the Ledbetter Act. It's passed the House, but remains stalled in the Senate.

Why is the Paycheck Fairness Act so important?

It would empower women to negotiate for equal pay, create stronger incentives for employers to follow the law, and strengthen federal outreach and enforcement efforts. It would also strengthen penalties for equal pay violations — provisions that would have helped me.

In other words, this bill gives teeth to the protections against pay discrimination. And women, who are still shortchanged in the workplace, deserve just that. 

Help us continue to fight by spreading the word. Please take a moment to forward this e-mail to your friends, family, and co-workers and invite them to tell their Senators to quickly pass the Paycheck Fairness Act
