The Global Citizen We've been working on a lot of exciting projects this month. Check them out below! Volunteers for a Global Future: Skills Last week we hosted our annual conference: Volunteers for a Global Future. Our participants learned new skills including fundraising and how to use social media for advocacy. Check out the video and other resources here! Get Involved At the conference, each one of our attendees filled out a commitment card to let us know how they want to be involved with GlobalSolutions.org this year. This allows us to get to know you and send you actions that are in alignment with what you care about. Will you fill out the online version? We Won: We-Care and MediaCause Grants We're excited to let you know that thanks to your voting on our video, we won a $5,000 social media grant from We-Care.com! We're going to use the funding to increase our ability to listen to our community and deliver better, more engaging content. We also won free consulting from MediaCause, which will allow us to understand what content you like so we can deliver more of it. We hope you'll see the difference and keep on liking and sharing our content! Our Favorite Facebook Post of the Month Why is social media important for advocacy? It's a platform to get our message across to our current members, new supporters, and advocacy targets. It helps us recruit volunteers and event attendees. It also allows us to get feedback on which issues our supporters are interested in. So we're excited to share with you our favorite Facebook post from the past month.
