The first United Nations invention brigade carried out its mission successfully in the Democratic Republic of Congo despite the risks of such an action. The UN's "task is to dissolve political blockage, to end occupation by armed forces, to restore state authority, to bring back hope to the people," says UN special envoy Martin Kobler.
