Israel's polio crisis shows road to eradication remains difficult
A 2012 polio outbreak in Israel and the response from anti-vaccine advocates has resulted in the country reinstating OPV as part of the polio-immunization protocol, writes Keren Landsman, an Israeli physician. "We won the fight against polio in Israel but we are losing it in the rest of the world. Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria still have polio, and they are still exporting it to other countries," Landsman writes. Aeon Magazine (U.K.) (5/29)
