Sri Lanka's politics hamper anti-malaria efforts

Sri Lanka's long-running battle to eradicate malaria provides an example of politics trumping climate or public health efforts as a main driver behind the disease's spread. Decades of civil war and ethnic strife in Sri Lanka have kept the island country from full eradication and the number of cases is rising. The New York Times (free registration) (12/27)
