Dear colleagues,

At the request of the Secretariat of the open-ended working group to develop proposals to take forward multilateral nuclear disarmament negotiations, we would like to share an official invitation to those civil society organizations that are engaged in disarmament affairs and that would be interested in contributing to the work of the working group.

As defined in resolution 67/56 entitled “Taking forward multilateral nuclear disarmament negotiations,” adopted by the General Assembly on 3 December 2012, the open-ended working will convene in Geneva in 2013 for up to fifteen working days.

The first organizational session of the open-ended working group session is scheduled on 14 March 2013. For further information, please refer to the official invitation letter available here (blank addressee).

Please find also a brief from an informal briefing that was held on 7 March on the organizational aspects of the first meeting of the working group.

We encourage civil society organizations working in the field of disarmament to share this invitation/information among their networks.
