About Elección Latina and Ready to Run™ The Center for American Women and Politics and LUPE Fund,Inc., together with a steering committee of leaders in the Latino/a community, sponsor Elección Latina, a pre-conference session of the New Jersey Ready to Run™ Campaign Training for Women. Elección Latina participants attend a half-day session that targets issues of particular interest to Latinas running for political office. Elección Latina participants then attend Ready to Run™ the next day to learn about the nuts and bolts of working on a campaign. Ready to Run™ offers real-world training and advice from experts on how to launch a campaign and or get involved in public life. Participants will walk away with: "how-to" instructions on running for office; fundraising and media skills; strategies for positioning yourself for public leadership; a better understanding of party politics; and effective internet strategies for campaigns and advocacy.
The conference features two tracks for women at different points in their political careers: Track 1 - I'm Ready to Run, Now What? and Track 2 - I'm Not Ready to Run Yet, But... |
