UN official: Syria willing to halt Aleppo bombing under truce
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has indicated his military will halt the shelling and bombing of Aleppo as part of a six-week cease-fire, according to United Nations Syrian envoy Staffan de Mistura. De Mistura plans to return to Syria to continue negotiations. "I have no illusions, because based on past experience, this will be a difficult issue to achieve," he said.
