Ban: Civil war has "catastrophic" effect on South Sudan's children
Many South Sudan children have been killed, sexually assailed and injured during the country's civil war, says a United Nations report. The South Sudan government needs to work to bring child soldiers back into society and to prosecute people who commit violence against children, the report says. "The impact of the violence on children has been catastrophic," says Ban Ki-moon, United Nations secretary-general.
