US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are to continue talks on Syria today despite Thursday's lack of progress. United Nations envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura called Thursday's meeting "long, painful, difficult and disappointing."

More than 60 nations have formally bound themselves to the Paris climate accord, giving the agreement the needed support to take effect at the end of the year if those officials follow through.
