Brands see benefits in using microsites instead of Facebook
Brands and publishers are putting more of their content on microsites and decreasing their reliance on Facebook to better control the experience and the consumer data they collect, experts say. "Brands will always have more control over owned spaces than rented ones," said Brooks Thomas of AT&T. "By and large, I view owned spaces as the farm and rented spaces as the market where you sell the crops -- you can personalize your stall, but you can't design the market." Adweek (9/22)
