Since the 2008 recession, 2.6 million more children have become impoverished than have escaped poverty in 41 wealthy countries, says a report by UNICEF. Child poverty increased by the largest percentage in Greece, Iceland, Latvia, Croatia and Ireland. UNICEF called on governments to boost their poverty-relief programs.
