UN rapporteur: Post-2015 goals can improve human rights
The post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals give "an opportunity for governments to show their commitment to human rights," especially those of migrants, says Francois Crepeau, United Nations special rapporteur on the human rights of migrants. The SDGs, Crepeau added, must avoid the shortcomings of the Millennium Development Goals, which "did not adequately tackle issues of discrimination, equality and equity, resulting in increases in inequalities within and between countries."
