[RED DEMOCRATICA] New START PASSES Senate

BREAKING NEWS:

New START Treaty Ratified
in a 71-26 Vote

Less than 30 minutes ago the United States Senate voted to give their advice and consent to the New START Treaty.  Read all about it in Don Kraus' blog post here.

I had the privilege of sitting in the gallery of the United States Senate and watching Senators Lugar and Kerry give the closing statements in support of the Treaty while Vice President Biden presided - and I'll tell you it was thrilling.  It was amazing to realize that it was the work of thousands of activists like you that made this possible.

In the end 13 Republicans proudly stood up and put country over partisan politics.  Those included Senators from states with our My Global Voice program: Senators Corker and Alexander of Tennessee and Senator Isakson of Georgia all voted Yes on New START.
