Nobelist, environmental leader Wangari Maathai dies

Kenyan environmentalist Wangari Maathai, a founder of the Green Belt movement that pioneered the planting of trees in Africa and a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, died Sunday of cancer at the age of 71.
