[RED DEMOCRATICA] Invitation to participate at a Post-Rio+20 Google+ Hangout (12 February)

Dear Colleagues,

 

As part of the ongoing follow-up of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD or Rio+20), the Division for Sustainable Development of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DSD/DESA, also the Secretariat for the Rio+20 conference) will host a Google+ Hangout on Tuesday, 12 February, at 12 PM EST on the UN Google+ Account, featuring key experts on Rio+20 and sustainable development from the UN system and civil society. 

 

In addition to a moderated dialogue with our experts, the Google+ Hangout will also feature a 20-minute live Q&A session with the panelists. We invite civil society organizations to submit questions for the panellists to answer live in our Hangout. Questions will be compiled on a rolling basis and can be tweeted to @SustDev using #SDinAction, or posted on the Sustainable Development Knowledge Platform Facebook page. Participants can also register for one of the Sustainable Development Action Networks on the Sustainable Development Knowledge Platform website to join the conversation there. 

 

Panelists for the first “Sustainable Development in Action” Google+ Hangout on 12 February include Nikhil Seth, Director of DSD/DESA and head of the Rio+20 Secretariat; Elizabeth Thompson, Executive Coordinator for the Rio+20 conference; Kimo Goree, Vice-President of the International Institute for Sustainable Development Reporting Services (IISD); and Jacob Scherr, Director of global strategy and advocacy for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).
