UN Dispatch
"[T]he biggest departure of [the High Level Panel's new development] recommendations from the MDGs is conceptual. The MDGs were very much about the various ways in which the developed world can help the developing world help itself. That was probably appropriate for the era, but today would be anachronistic. Rather, this report envisions a wide variety of stakeholders brought into the fold." UN Dispatch (5/30)

Editor's Note
Correction
The secretary-general's High-Level Panel released a report that offered recommendations for what to include in the post-2015 development agenda. The report was not a finalized list of goals, as suggested by a news item in Thursday's issue of UN Wire. SmartBrief regrets the error.
