High-level Meeting of the General Assembly on the UN Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons (13 May)
A high-level dialogue on “Improving the coordination of efforts against
trafficking in persons” will take place at UN Headquarters on Monday 13 May
2013. The programme of the event will be posted on the following page:

General Assembly resolution 67/260, adopted on 1 May, provides for
participation of both ECOSOC NGOs as well as other groups in the event.
If your organization has ECOSOC consultative status, you can register in
CSONet through the following link:

All other groups are requested to complete a questionnaire and provide
names of up to three representatives, through the following link:

Thematic debate: Sustainable Development and Climate Change: Practical Solutions in the Energy-Water Nexus (16 May)
The Office of the President of the United Nations General Assembly invites you to attend a thematic debate entitled “Sustainable Development and Climate Change: Practical Solutions in the Energy-Water Nexus”, to be convened by the President of the General Assembly, H.E. Vuk Jeremic, on Thursday, 16 May 2013. This one-day event will consist of two sessions. The morning session will comprise an opening segment, high-level keynote addresses from political leaders and world-renowned experts and a general debate. Two interactive round table panel discussions and closing segment will take place in the afternoon session.
Date and Time: 16 May 2013, Thursday / 10.00 am – 6.00 pm
Venue: UN Headquarters New York (exact venue to be determined)
Please RSVP to info@un-ngls.org or by pressing Reply to this email, by Friday, 10 May 2013, indicating the name of the participant, his/her organizational affiliation and whether the participant holds a UN Ground Pass. The venue has limited capacity and seats will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. We will write to confirmed participants only, with confirmation and important information on how to pick up your Special Event Ticket and ensure your entry.
Please note that the UN Secretariat will not provide any funding for participation in this event.
The thematic debate will also be webcasted and the livestream will be available at http://webtv.un.org/.
