Ban: "Leaders must act" on climate report
Greenhouse gases must be eliminated by the close of this century, argues a report from the the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that summarizes the work of 800 scientists published since September 2013. The report gave 95% certainty that warming since 1950 is man-made and not from natural effects. "Science has spoken. There is no ambiguity in the message. Leaders must act; time is not on our side," said United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Reuters (11/2), The Guardian (London) (10/31)
