The DPI/NGO Conference is the main NGO event of the year at the United Nations. This years conference is organized by a partnership of the U.N. Department of Public Information in cooperation with the DPI/NGO Executive Committee, the Government of Mexico, and the U.N. Office for Disarmament Affairs. For the second time in its six-decade history, the Conference is held outside the United Nations New York Headquarters.

Al dia siguiente de finalizada la conferencia DPI-NGOs, el sabado 12 de septiembre en la ciudad de Mexico, la World Alliance for Transforming UN (WATUN) realiza su 1er Congreso Internacional.
En este sentido, WATUN tiene el agrado de invitarle a su 1er congreso Mundial para tratar con otras organizaciones de la sociedad civil global soluciones a los actuales problemas internacionales y analizar las diferentes posibilidades de revision de la Carta ONU que viene trabajando durante los ultimos anos.

World Alliance for Transforming UN (WATUN)
FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS
The Mission of the World Alliance to Transform the United Nations is to urge and promote a Review of
the UN Charter as a first step in reforming or transforming the United Nations, starting with a UN
Parliamentary Assembly and moving towards a World Parliament that truly represents
the people, including via nation-states and world civil society.
We'll work for the establishment of an effective system of global governance that is able to deal
adequately with such global issues as peace and security, disarmament, sustainable development,
adherence to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, international law, and the protection
and restoration of the natural environment. It should be based on the principles of justice,
freedom, democracy, rule of law, equity, self-determination, mutual cultural respect and religious
diversity, international fellowship and cooperation.
