Ban urges rapid deployment of additional troops to CAR
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged the Security Council on Thursday to allow another 3,000 troops and police to be sent to the Central African Republic until a UN peacekeeping force can be approved and deployed. $2.2 billion needed to fund UNICEF's work in 2014
UNICEF is asking for $2.2 billion this year to finance global aid programs for children. About 40% of the money will be used for programs in Syria.
