A resolution to allow cross-border aid deliveries into Syria without the government's permission was unanimously approved Monday by the United Nations Security Council. The aid will help 1.3 million Syrian civilians who "have not had secure food supplies or access to basic health care for many months," says Ban Ki-moon, UN secretary-general.
