Going to Zero With Weapons of Mass Destruction: Lessons From the Chemical Weapons Convention

Featuring Ambassador Rogelio Pfirter, Director-General, Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons

Tuesday, June 16, 2009, noon to 1 p.m.

Ambassador Rogelio Pfirter is Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the implementing body of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). At at time of increased interest in the abolition of nuclear weapons, Ambassador Pfirter will discuss the Chemical Weapons Convention as an example of how nations can work together effectively within a multilateral framework to eliminate weapons of mass destruction.

Location: Woodrow Wilson Center in the Ronald Reagan Building, ("Federal Triangle" stop on Blue/Orange Line), 6th Floor Auditorium
