[RED DEMOCRATICA] EVENTS: SL Rotary Immigration debate: Immigration Reform: Why, When and How Shall We Do It?

Today at noon I will be debating Rep. Stephen Sandstrom at the SL Rotary luncheon about Utah's immigration issue.  Here is more information about the event.  If you would like to attend please call ASAP to see if they can still get you a seat.  I been out of town and just returned yesterday my apologies for the late notice. SL Rotary Immigration Program

 

Date:                                     Tuesday, September 7th

Place:                                    Marriott Hotel (75 South West Temple)

Time:                                     12:00 pm – 12:15 pm – Meet and Greet Informal Social Period - will each Participants will be greeted by a Rotarian who will help with introductions during the informal social period.

 

12:15 pm – 1:30 pm – Lunch and Formal Meeting – Participants will be seated at Head Table

 

Topic:                                    Immigration Reform: Why, When and How Shall We Do It?

 

Participants:                       Tony Yapias, Director of Proyecto Latino de Utah

                                                Stephen Sandstrom, Utah Rep District 58

 

Parking:                                Validated parking is available in the Marriott Hotel

 

Guests:                                Participants will each be hosted by the Rotary Club, participant staff family are welcome with advance reservations and will be charged a guest fee of $20.

 

Hand-Out materials:       Participant hand-out materials are encouraged and must be left on a table by the ballroom entrance to be picked up by interested Rotarians.

 

Moderator:                        Bob Springmeyer, Rotary President – 1991-92

 

Program Format:             

1.       3 min. Introduction and opening remarks, (flip coin to determine order)

30 sec. Rebuttal (each candidate if necessary)

2.       Questions and Answers – Written Questions – 90 sec each.

30 sec. Rebuttal (each candidate if necessary)

3.       2 min. Concluding remarks (each candidate in reverse order from openings)

4.       Meeting will adjourn promptly at 1:30pm
