Facebook and Twitter are valuable tools for TV marketers, but they generate about half as much lift among regular show watchers as does offline word-of-mouth marketing, according to a study by the Council for Research Excellence. The study also says Facebook is most effective when people aren't watching TV, while Twitter is most effective when people are in front of the screen.
