NEW CFR ACADEMIC MODULES

As you prepare your syllabus for the coming semester, be sure to browse the latest Academic Modules from CFR at www.cfr.org/educators/modules.html. Each module, built around a CFR publication, includes teaching notes and supplemental online materials, as well as recommended readings by the author. Available free of charge, they are a great resource for any international relations course!

Featured Module:
War of Necessity,War of Choice

This new module includes teaching notes by author and CFR President Richard N. Haass, along with related resources and content from CFR.org. To listen to Dr. Haass discuss the book with educators during a special Academic Conference Call, click here.

INTERNATIONAL AND U.S. ATTITUDES

Public Opinion on Global Issues

Produced by CFR's International Institutions and Global Governance program, this comprehensive digest draws on existing polling data on U.S. and global public attitudes on the world's most pressing challenges--and the institutions designed to address them. Developed in partnership with the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, it consolidates and analyzes global and U.S. public opinion across ten major issue areas.

-->For related CFR content, visit the International Institutions and Global Governance Program page here.

COMBATING MASS ATROCITIES

Intervention to Stop Genocide and Mass Atrocities

In this new Council Special Report, CFR's Matthew C. Waxman argues that putting decisions about international intervention solely in the hands of the UN Security Council risks undermining the threat or use of intervention when it may be most potent in stopping mass atrocities.

AN ISRAELI STRIKE ON IRAN

Contingency Planning Memorandum: An Israeli Strike on Iran

This Center for Preventive Action (CPA) Contingency Planning Memorandum by CFR's Steven Simon assesses the likelihood of an Israeli strike on Iran, the policy options available to diminish that likelihood, the implications should it take place, and measures that could be taken to mitigate the consequences.

-->For other Contingency Planning Memoranda and CFR content on conflict prevention, visit the Center for Preventive Action page here.
