[RED DEMOCRATICA] IBP in the Wall Street Journal Blog

 

In April 2010 the Wall Street Journal Blog published the article Evaluating China’s Drive for Budget Transparency based on the IBP’s assessment of four of China’s ministries that disclosed their departmental budgets for the first time. While IBP commended the Chinese government’s initiative to post online departmental budgets as a step to further transparency, it also highlighted that timeliness and degree of detail in the disclosed budgets are areas that can be addressed to improve the quality and usefulness of budget information.
