StopRape in Conflict: campaña contra la violencia de género

El Secretariado Permanente de la Red Latinoamericana y del Caribe para la Democracia se une a la gran Campaña Internacional para poner fin a la violación y violencia de género en situaciones de conflicto: StopRape in Conflict.
La campaña, lanzada el 6 de mayo, exige un liderazgo político urgente y enérgico para prevenir la violación y violencia de género en los conflictos, proteger a civiles y sobrevivientes de violación y pedir justicia para todos, incluyendo el enjuiciamiento efectivo de los responsables.
La iniciativa de carácter internacional levanta la voz sobre la situación en países como Congo, Kenia, Birmania y Colombia en donde se utiliza la violación como un arma para humillar a la gente y destrozar a las comunidades. Se busca la colaboración mundial de Premios Nobel de la Paz, organizaciones internacionales de defensa de derechos humanos y de las comunidades en zonas de conflicto.
Una de las principales responsables y generadora de la campaña es Patricia Guerrero, Coordinadora Adjunta de Género de la Red Latinoamericana y del Caribe para la Democracia, miembro de la Liga de Mujeres Desplazadas de Colombia y del Observatorio de Género, Democracia y Derechos Humanos, es además, miembro del Comité Asesor de la campaña y gran promotora de la iniciativa.
La campaña e iniciativa está inspirada en 3 pilares: Prevenir, Proteger y Procesar.
El Secretariado Permanente de la Red Latinoamericana y del Caribe para la Democracia, plataforma de impulso a la democracia y los derechos humanos, integrada por más de 300 organizaciones. Miembro Oficial del Foro de Sociedad Civil de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) y Capítulo Regional del Movimiento Mundial por la Democracia (WMD), invita a Organizaciones de la Sociedad Civil, líderes democráticos, gobiernos, defensores de derechos humanos y ciudadanía en general a unirse a esta importante iniciativa a favor del respeto de los derechos humanos de la mujer. StopRape in Conflict: campaign against gender violence

The Permanent Secretariat of Latin American and Caribbean Network for Democracy joins the international campaign to end rape and gender violence in conflict situations: StopRape in Conflict.
The campaign, launched on May 6, requires urgent and strong political leadership to prevent rape and gender violence in conflict, protect civilians and survivors of rape and seek justice for all, including the prosecution of those responsible.
The international initiative to raise your voice on the situation in countries like Congo, Kenya, Burma and Colombia where rape is used as a weapon to humiliate people and destroy communities. It seeks global partnership of Nobel Peace Prizes, international human rights defenders and communities in conflict zones.
One of the most responsible and the campaign is Patricia Guerrero, Alternate Coordinator of Gender of Latin American and Caribbean Network for Democracy, member of the League of Displaced Women in Colombia and the Observatory for Gender, Democracy and Human Rights, is also member of the Advisory Committee of the campaign and a great promoter of the initiative.
The campaign and initiative is inspired by three pillars: Prevent, Protect and Process.
