IRAN AND THE WORLD

CFR Book:
Guardians of the Revolution: Iran and the World in the Age of the Ayatollahs

For over a quarter-century, Iran has been one of the United States' chief nemeses. But as CFR's Ray Takeyh shows in this accessible and authoritative history of Iran's relations with the world since the revolution, behind the famous personalities and extremist slogans is a nation that is far more pragmatic—and complex—than many in the West have been led to believe.

A NEW TAKE ON IMMIGRATION

CFR Task Force Report:
U.S. Immigration Policy

This CFR-sponsored Independent Task Force report offers a strategy for maintaining the United States' political and economic leadership by attracting skilled immigrants, a program of legalization for those living in the United States illegally, and steps for securing the country's borders in an effective and humane way.

GLOBAL ECONOMIC OUTLOOK

CFR Working Paper:
The Gloomy Prospects for World Growth

In this Center for Geoeconomic Studies Working Paper, CFR's Steven Dunaway argues that the world economy faces the prospect of prolonged slower growth. Other sources must be found to counteract decreased U.S. demand, but no other major economy appears inclined to change their policies to do so.

More resources on Economics:

Foreign Affairs Article: "The Dollar and the Defecits"

Crisis Guide: The Global Economy

PANDEMIC FLU

CFR Symposium: Pandemic Influenza: Science, Economics, and Foreign Policy

CFR recently hosted a three-part symposium, cosponsored with Science Magazine, on the science, economics, and foreign policy related to pandemic influenza.
