Investments that boost a country's gross national product do little to alleviate child malnutrition, with each 5% increase in GDP reducing stunting by less than 1%, says a study led by Subu Subramanian, a Harvard School of Public Health professor.
More investment needs to be made in sanitation, clean water, promotion of breastfeeding and food-aid programs, the study says.
